i have noticed i am getting alot of hair breakage. i just got my hair cut and styled a couple weeks ago. previous to this cut, i did not blow dry or straighten my hair. but now i do so every three days or so.... i am concernced that my hair will keep breaking if i keep using the round brush and straightening. what can i do to protect me hair? should i dry most of my hair before i use the brush to prevent it from breaking??
Hair breakage from round brush?
Are you using a straightening iron to straighten your hair?, if so that is your cause. Flat irons are extremely hot and damaging to your hair and are best used occasionaly.
You must use a protective spray before you flat iron or you will eventually get breakage. You will notice this especially at the front of your bang area. A great product that just came out recently is "Vavoom protective iron spray" by Matrix. It has gold in it to disperse the heat from the iron evenly to stop holes from being created in your hair which causes the breakage. It will help the iron glide through your hair without sticking and also contains ceramides which repair your hair as well. They sort of fill in the holes or weak spots. You hair should be at least 90% dry before you spray it in and be sure to comb it throughout your hair. Also try not to brush through your hair when it is soaken wet. this also causes breakage, towel dry as much as possible and use your dryer on cool to get most of the rest of the moisture out, then spray in protective and comb through , then iron.

Just stop using that brush.

Best thing to do is blowdry your hair about 80% dry then take medium size sections and blow dry them with the round brush! I do this with my clients and it seems to be A. less work and B. less tension and pulling on the hair... if you are going to do both blowout with a round brush and use a straightener i suggest of going with just one method instead of doing both dry your hair 100% without using the roundbrush if you are going to straighten so there is less room for it to be drying (also you could use a heat protective spray before styling to protect your hair )

it could be the brush, some brushes have bristles than make ur hair hitch in the root of them and pluck out ur hair
